About the Internship

WeChat’s internships provide paid, full-time opportunities lasting a minimum of 12 weeks. Interns will be mentored by senior members of the WeChat operations team and work hands-on in developing new projects and product features. By the end of the internship, participants will have gained a deep understanding of WeChat’s values, independently executed data-driven projects, and collaborated effectively across multiple departments, including product, engineering, and legal teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop automated technical operations tools and systems to enhance the efficiency of developers in building, testing, and deploying scalable, robust services
• Deploy, manage, and maintain new and existing services, ensuring system stability and performance
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve critical service operation issues while contributing to the documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance operational automation and system resilience

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Students who will graduate in 2026 or beyond and will be able to commit to a full time internship (Monday to Friday) during the summer period and potentially convert into a part-time internship during semester term (3 days per week)
• Proficiency in SQL and Python; familiarity with C/C++/Go is preferred
• Strong sense of ownership, customer-oriented mindset, and integrity
• Quick learner with strong problem-solving skills and a team-player attitude
• Prior internet industry work or internship experience is preferred
• Fluency in English and Mandarin to collaborate effectively with international stakeholders and HQ-based teams
