Kotlin Engineer

Adyen is looking for full-time Kotlin Engineers to help develop their in-person payments solution. The role involves working on payment terminals that accept payments via credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and QR codes. The engineer will develop main business logic in Kotlin deployed on Android and Linux-based payment terminals and backend. Responsibilities include communication with Adyen backend, integration with cash registers, and ensuring stable, feature-rich solutions through various testing methods. The role encourages proposing improvements and taking ownership from design to monitoring of new features. Required skills include 5+ years of Android/Kotlin development, software design in Kotlin, database knowledge (Postgresql, SQLite), and fluent English. Nice to have are Kotlin Multiplatform experience, additional programming languages, and card payment knowledge. The role is based in Chicago with a hybrid workplace valuing in-person collaboration and does not offer remote-only roles.
