Job Title: Backend Developer (Java/Spring Microservices)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer for a client project based in Helsinki. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java and the Spring framework, with proven expertise in building and maintaining RESTful microservices and event-driven systems.

You will be contributing to both existing and greenfield backend services, working within a modern development environment that values clean code, scalability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Java and Spring.
• Build and expose RESTful APIs.
• Implement event streaming solutions, primarily with Apache Kafka.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver efficient solutions.

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

• Strong expertise in Java development.
• Deep understanding of the Spring framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC).
• Experience developing RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency in event streaming, especially with Kafka.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
