Job Title: AI/ML Consultant (Remote – Portugal)

Contract Duration: Immediate Start – End of 2025

Location: Fully Remote (Must be based in Portugal)

Working Hours: Portuguese Time Zone (UK Time)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced AI/ML Consultant to design and oversee the architecture of cutting-edge AI and machine learning solutions for a high-profile banking client. In this role, you will collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to develop scalable, robust AI systems that drive innovation and align with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and architect end-to-end AI/ML solutions, ensuring scalability and integration with existing systems.
• Develop and deploy machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and generative AI models (including LLMs like GPT, Gemini, BERT).
• Lead the implementation of NLP applications (text processing, sentiment analysis, entity recognition, etc.).
• Work with data engineers to optimize data pipelines and ensure high-quality data inputs.
• Provide technical leadership, guiding teams on best practices in model development, testing, and deployment.
• Evaluate and select AI/ML tools, frameworks, and cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Stay ahead of emerging AI/ML trends, applying innovative approaches to solve business challenges.
• Communicate complex AI concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements:

• 8+ years of hands-on AI/ML experience, with expertise in machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and generative AI.
• Strong proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, and big data tools (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and MLOps practices.
• Deep understanding of LLMs, NLP techniques, and model deployment strategies.
• Ability to lead technical teams and mentor junior members.
• Fluent in English (client-facing role with a global banking team).
• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with MLOps tools (CI/CD for ML models).
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
• Previous work in banking/financial services (not mandatory).
