What does a successful Network Engineer do in Fiserv?

Are you passionate about technology, energized by challenges, and eager to roll up your sleeves to design, deploy and support large scale networks? We’re looking for a hands-on Network Engineer who brings a bias for action, a strong sense of ownership, and a hunger to learn and grow. You thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and are excited by the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology. If you have the energy, commitment, and drive to make a real impact, we want you on our team.

What You Will Do:

  • Take a hands-on role in designing, delivering, and supporting advanced network infrastructure, including firewalls (Palo Alto) and load balancers (F5, Citrix).
  • Tackle challenges head-on in next-generation data center networks, delivering sustainable, repeatable solutions.
  • Proactively automate network operations by creating and maintaining tools, scripts, and runbooks—always looking for better, faster ways to get things done.
  • Collaborate closely with other engineering and development teams to ensure smooth rollouts of new designs and products, while being in charge for the whole connectivity solution (network, firewalls, load balancers, etc.).
  • Continuously challenge and evolve operational methodologies, helping to shape the future of automation at Fiserv.
  • Create, review, and maintain documentation, processes, and knowledge transfer materials to share your expertise and help others learn.
  • Work directly with customers to implement optimal network and security solutions and provide 2nd-level support, always with a sense of urgency and ownership.
  • Build, configure, and install networking devices; contribute to infrastructure programmability using Python, Ansible, and web technologies.
  • Implement client access solutions like IPSEC/VPNs and SDWAN networks, including integration with firewalls and load balancers.

What You Will Need to Have:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in network engineering, network design, or architecture, with a strong preference for hands-on roles.
  • Demonstrated energy, initiative, and a proven track record of taking ownership and driving results.
  • Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including policy creation, troubleshooting, and advanced feature configuration.
  • Experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting F5 (BIG-IP) and Citrix (NetScaler/ADC) load balancers.
  • Experience with Ethernet, TCP/IP, ISIS, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VXLAN, FabricPath.
  • Experience with Data Center (DC) Networking technologies.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks daily in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise networks.
  • Strong skills in producing clear, detailed technical documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with peers and customers.
  • High level of stamina and resilience; comfortable working long hours and flexible schedules, including sometimes nights and/or during the weekend, as required.
  • Strong desire for continuous learning and professional development.
  • Willingness and ability to participate in an on-call rotation.

What Would Be Great to Have:

  • Experience with Cloud Environments (AWS and Azure).
  • Advanced experience with Palo Alto firewall management, including Panorama and automation/integration (REST API, Ansible, etc.).
  • Advanced knowledge of F5 and Citrix ADC (NetScaler) including iRules, SSL offloading, GSLB, and advanced load balancing features.
  • Experience with automation and DevNet tools such as Python, Ansible, and web technologies (AJAX, JavaScript, HTML, Django, Flask).
  • Any other additional scripting or software development skills.
  • Experience working in international, collaborative environments.
