Network Security Engineer

Do you have 5+ years of experience as a Network Security Engineer? We are looking for a colleague to join our team in Brussels.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Network Security Engineer
• Strong knowledge of: Firewalls, VPN, WAF, load balancers, proxy servers; Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA); SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanning tools; Routing protocols, DNS, ExpressRoute, TACACS; Hybrid cloud security (Azure/AWS), encryption, access control; Linux and Windows system environments
• Proficiency in scripting for automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
• Familiarity with CSIRT/CERT, incident triage, threat analysis
• Knowledge of security frameworks and protocols: ISO/IEC 27001, NIST, RFC standards, cryptographic protocols
• Experience in documenting post-incident analysis and process improvement
• Language(s): English (fluent), French (fluent), Dutch (fluent)

Job Description:

• Design and implement advanced network security strategies based on best practices and compliance requirements
• Configure and manage next-gen firewalls, VPNs, proxies, and load balancers
• Monitor traffic and identify anomalies using tools like SIEM, IDS/IPS, and custom scripts
• Perform network audits and vulnerability assessments; provide detailed reporting and mitigation plans
• Lead incident response activities, ensuring rapid resolution and root cause documentation
• Support automation efforts to streamline monitoring and configuration tasks
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers and collaborating cross-functionally
• Maintain secure connectivity across hybrid environments including ISP links, corporate Wi-Fi, and cloud connections
• Contribute to a resilient and scalable infrastructure in alignment with national cybersecurity priorities
