Online Programmer

We believe this is an opportunity for a driven developer who either has previous experience or a strong interest in online programming using Unreal Engine 5 with a few years under their belt in the industry.

Your primary responsibility will be integrating the game with the online infrastructure and backend for our game client and maintaining and enhancing the online infrastructure within a team that thrives on collaboration. In addition to that we think you are proficient as a generalist programmer and can pitch in with general development if needed.

We work remotely, leveraging the power of Discord to stay connected and efficient.

Responsibilities:

• Integrate and create abstraction layers between 3rd party platform providers (Steam etc) and the core game systems
• Maintain and further develop the game’s online functionality
• Propose solutions for project wide code issues and help create a more stable product
• Develop and maintain backend systems and integrate the game with third-party systems
• Build and maintain online service code
• General development and maintenance of game systems.
  
  

Qualifications:

We’re looking for a curious mind that embraces challenges with a growth mindset. The “how does this work, and how can I learn more” attitude is highly regarded here. While collaboration is key in this role, we also value your ability to tackle problems within your domain independently.

• Proficiency in C++ programming or extensive experience in other backend programming languages
• Strong debugging skills
• Knowledge of programming methodologies and common strategies within software architecture
• Familiarity with Unreal Engine is preferable, but not necessary
