Network Engineer

Network Engineer | Swindon | Permanent | Up to £40,000 Per Annum

Our client is looking for a skilled Network Engineer eager to take ownership and expand their capabilities within a varied and evolving IT landscape. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on responsibility and wants to make a tangible impact.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for supporting and developing a resilient network that connects a unique range of locations, including historically significant and geographically diverse sites.

This is a hybrid position. While much of the role can be done remotely, our client is looking for someone to be in the Swindon office one day per week and then additional site visits as required.

Key Experience Required:

• Skilled in crafting and executing network infrastructures by converting conceptual designs into practical, standards-based setups.
• In-depth understanding of core networking principles and systems, including local and wide area networks (e.g. VLANs, TCP/IP, SD-WAN) telecommunications (both cloud-based and on-premise), and wireless technologies.
• Proficient in diagnosing intricate networking problems, applying logical analysis to identify root causes,, and delivering reliable resolutions.
• Experienced in validating network configurations to meet critical non-functional requirements, with a focus on security, permissions, and regulatory compliance.
• Adept at working across varied teams and geographic sites, translating complex technical matters into clear insights for stakeholders at all levels, from operational teams to executive leadership.
• Capable of juggling competing priorities while ensuring network changes, configuration details, and diagnostic findings are thoroughly documented and accessible.
