Well known Global Consultancy based in Brussels are looking for a Network Security Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Security Architecture: Architect and deploy cutting-edge network security solutions aligned with industry standards and regulatory compliance frameworks
• Infrastructure Management: Configure and optimize next-generation firewalls, VPN gateways, proxy servers, and intelligent load balancers for maximum protection
• Threat Detection: Leverage SIEM platforms, IDS/IPS systems, and custom monitoring scripts to identify suspicious network activity and emerging threats
• Security Assessment: Conduct comprehensive network audits and vulnerability assessments, delivering actionable reports with prioritised remediation strategies
• Incident Response: Spearhead security incident investigations, ensuring swift containment, resolution, and thorough root cause analysis documentation
• Automation Leadership: Drive security automation initiatives to enhance monitoring capabilities and streamline configuration management processes
• Technical Mentorship: Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to junior engineers while fostering cross-functional collaboration across teams
• Hybrid Connectivity: Secure and maintain robust network connections spanning ISP links, enterprise Wi-Fi infrastructure, and multi-cloud environments
• Strategic Infrastructure: Build resilient, scalable security frameworks that support national cybersecurity objectives and organizational growth

Preferred Certifications:

• Expert Level: CISSP, CISM, GIAC (GCIH, GSTRT)
• Professional Level: CEH, CTIA, CompTIA Security+, Cisco CyberOps

Job Requirements:

• Perimeter Defense Mastery: Advanced configuration of next-gen firewalls, VPN tunnels, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), intelligent load balancers, and high-performance proxy servers
• Zero Trust Architecture: Hands-on experience implementing Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) principles and microsegmentation strategies
• Threat Intelligence Platform: Expert-level proficiency with SIEM orchestration, IDS/IPS tuning, and automated vulnerability scanning ecosystems

Network & Infrastructure

• Advanced Networking: Deep understanding of dynamic routing protocols, DNS security, Azure ExpressRoute, and TACACS+ authentication frameworks
• Hybrid Cloud Security: Proven experience securing multi-cloud environments (Azure/AWS), implementing robust encryption standards, and designing granular access control policies
• Cross-Platform Expertise: Strong operational knowledge of both Linux and Windows enterprise environments

Automation & Development

• Security Automation: Proficiency in Python, Bash, and PowerShell scripting to build custom security tools and streamline operational workflows
• Incident Response Excellence: Experience with Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT/CERT) methodologies, advanced incident triage, and sophisticated threat analysis techniques

Standards & Compliance

• Security Framework Mastery: Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, RFC security standards, and modern cryptographic protocols
