AI Engineer

As we revolutionize the way businesses operate, we are seeking a talented AI Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will contribute to the development of advanced AI solutions, building semantic and computational models and mappings that enhance our control system. You will work collaboratively with the whole team. This position is ideal for a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about developing AI technologies that can significantly improve the operational efficiency and decision-making of organisations and systems.

• Model ontologies and knowledge schemas that represent business processes, decisions, and dynamic systems
• Integrate LLM tooling (e.g., LangChain, RAG, embeddings) to automate extraction, mapping, and linking
• Design and manage knowledge graph operations, including ingestion, enrichment, and alignment of data
• Translate unstructured text into structured graphs (entities, relationships, attributes) using state-of-the-art tools and prompt-driven workflows
• Own and conduct rapid prototyping on AI functionalities, delivering 'WOW' moments on the customer end
• Conduct experiments to validate model performance and optimise effectiveness
• Monitor and maintain AI system performance, identifying and addressing issues proactively
• Provide technical insights and support to other teams on AI-related tasks and stay up to date with trends and newest findings

• Proficiency in LLMs, prompt engineering, embeddings, and RAG workflows
• Strong programming skills in Python or similar languages used in AI development
• Advanced experience with frameworks such as LangChain and spaCy
• Proven experience in developing and deploying algorithms towards knowledge extraction, mapping, and modeling for large amounts of information.
• Relevant experience and understanding of transparency and explainability of models, applying ontology logics and data lineage
• Experience with Foundry, Grakn
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field is appreciated
• You must speak English and German at level C1 or higher
• You already live or are willing to relocate to Cologne, Germany
