Are you an experienced DevOps Engineer with a passion for sustainability and the energy transition? Seize the opportunity to join our client now. In this role, you will take full responsibility for an advanced cloud infrastructure and play a crucial role in the further development of a platform that contributes to a more sustainable future.
This company is a pioneer in energy management, offering an advanced charging station management platform (CPMS). With a strong mission focused on the energy transition, it develops innovative and technologically advanced solutions.
You will be the linchpin of the infrastructure and the sole DevOps specialist within the organization. You will work closely with the development team (15 engineers), working with a modern tech stack (including Node.js, Golang, Rust). You will be responsible for the management and further development of the entire AWS infrastructure. While product teams are increasingly taking responsibility for their own deployments, you will focus on the overarching architecture, introducing new technologies, and ensuring a stable and scalable environment.
What your day will be like
- Managing and optimizing the cloud infrastructure on AWS, including EKS, S3, and EC2.
- Working with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and deployment tools such as Helm and Argo CD.
- Maintaining and automating CI/CD pipelines via GitHub.
- Introducing and implementing new technologies, such as message queues (NATS).
- Managing the 'fleet' of Linux-based controllers, including firmware and VPN connections.
- Collaborating with development teams to integrate infrastructure components, such as Prometheus for monitoring.
- Performing scripting tasks to automate and improve processes.
Personal skills
The ideal candidate is a proactive and independent engineer who is not afraid to express a clear, well-reasoned opinion. You are a strong communicator, dare to be critical, and have a "getting things done" mentality. You understand the Dutch work culture and can act as the technical sparring partner for the development team, helping them take the next step in their development.
Requirements for this role
- Demonstrable senior experience as a DevOps Engineer.
- In-depth knowledge of AWS (EKS, S3, EC2).
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Helm, and Argo CD.

- Experience with message queues (preferably NATS, Kafka is a plus).
- Familiar with databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, InfluxDB, and ClickHouse.
- Experience with service mesh technology like Linkerd.
- Good command of the English language.
- You reside in the Netherlands; sponsorship is possible for candidates already living in the Netherlands.

- 38 vacation days per year.
- A hybrid work model: 3 days in the office in Amsterdam, 2 days at home.
- An NS Business Card for all public transport.
- A pension scheme.
- Fully catered lunch at the office.
