For our client we are looking for a Cloud Security Engineer for Google Cloud Platform:

Duration: 4 months + chance of extensions

Location: Stockholm (Hybrid Working)

Pay Rate: Negotiable

Job Role:

• We are looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer with hands-on experience in GCP infrastructure and platform engineering to join our client’s central cloud platform team. The team is responsible for building and maintaining the GCP landing zone, governance frameworks, and central services that enable product teams to securely and efficiently deploy applications and analytics in the cloud.
• This role requires deep knowledge of GCP architecture and components (e.g., IAM, networking, logging, monitoring), proficiency in Terraform, and a track record of automating infrastructure and enabling self-service capabilities. You’ll work on foundational elements like Shared VPCs, Workload Identity Federation (WIF), and centralized policy enforcement, as well as collaborate with product teams to provide best practices and architectural support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enhance and maintain the GCP landing zone, including governance, networking, and security frameworks
• Design, build, and manage central platform services (e.g., BigQuery quota control, WIF, PAM integrations)
• Implement and improve automation and self-service capabilities across the platform
• Provide architectural guidance and support to product and analytics teams on GCP services (e.g., IAM, VPC, Cloud Run, Vertex AI)
• Contribute to defining and enforcing best practices around infrastructure, security, observability, and cost optimization
• Collaborate with stakeholders such as Security, DevOps, and Application Teams to ensure compliance and scalability of cloud solutions

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with GCP, particularly in platform engineering and infrastructure architecture
• Proven experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices
• Deep understanding of GCP services such as IAM, VPC, Cloud Monitoring, BigQuery, and Cloud Run
• Experience in managing Shared VPC, setting up Workload Identity Federation (WIF), and developing central platform policies
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, or similar)
• Experience working in large-scale environments with a platform team or cloud center of excellence
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Nice to Have:

• Experience with policy-as-code frameworks (e.g., OPA/Constraint Templates)
• Familiarity with Vertex AI or GCP-native ML/analytics workflows
