HR Specialist

We are looking for an experienced HR/Payroll Specialist to join our collaborative team. In this role, you will take ownership of payroll processes and contribute to optimizing workflows as part of a growing organization. This is a long-term contract opportunity ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic and team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer full-cycle bi-weekly payroll processes using Workforce Now, ensuring accuracy for hourly and salaried employees.

• Review and verify payroll data to maintain compliance with company policies and labor laws.

• Collaborate with HR to manage seasonal employee ramp-ups and transitions.

• Develop and refine payroll workflows to improve operational efficiency.

• Stay updated on payroll regulations and best practices to ensure adherence.

• Support the Director of People Operations in managing payroll for a workforce of 120 employees, scaling to 150 during peak seasons.

• Provide assistance in maintaining and troubleshooting HR systems, including Workforce Now.

• Act as a key resource for payroll-related inquiries within the HR team.

• 3-5 years of experience in payroll and human resources.
• Familiarity with Workforce Now, particularly in HR operations rather than accounting.
• Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations, with experience in non-profit payroll being a plus.
• Proficiency in Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Google Suite and collaborative tools.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt quickly and contribute effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
