We are expanding our desktop capabilities into the browser. For this we are starting a new team, which will define a design foundation that is modern, scalable, and built for the long term.

Visual Components software is a robust and intricate system that allows customers to design production lines, simulate and analyze production flow, perform virtual commissioning projects, and program industrial robots. Our interfaces are visual and user-friendly, making the software simple, fun, and easy to use, yet powerful and flexible for big projects.

Our Headquarters is in Espoo, Finland and we have branches in Indiana, US, Munich, Germany, and Tokyo, Japan. Our team of over 24 nationalities and global partner network make Visual Components a truly international company.

THE ROLE AND THE TEAM

We are looking for a UX Designer to join our brand‑new UX/UI team responsible for designing user experience and interfaces for all our products.

The core team will include UX/UI designers, front-end developers along with dedicated PO and QA members from their respective teams. Our team size is typically 5-8 persons.

You would join our colleagues in Espoo or Tampere, but we support you if you prefer to work remotely from anywhere in Finland.

YOUR IMPACT

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented UX Designer. As part of our product development team, you'll play a key role in shaping intuitive and visually engaging user experiences for our 3D and other interfaces. You will have a UX Designer colleague with whom you can learn about the different product areas and contexts.

Key responsibilities:

• Design wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes using tools like Figma.
• Design and development of visual elements, including icons, graphics, and layouts.
• Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and improve design solutions.
• Leverage usage data to evaluate the impact of your designs and apply your learnings.
• Support the development team by providing design assets, specifications, and feedback.
• Help ensure design consistency and accessibility across all Visual Components platforms.

THE SKILLS YOU WILL BRING

We are looking for a designer with a passion for collaborative work and a knack for making complex work simple.

• Strong portfolio showcasing UX and UI design work.
• Proficiency in design software such as Figma.
• Good understanding of UX/UI principles and best practices.
• Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience working with design systems.
• Ability to interpret complex workflows and translate them into intuitive designs.
• Familiarity with e.g. CAD software and 3D applications is a plus.
• Familiarity with service design is a plus.
