Back End Developer

Job Title: Senior Backend Engineer (.NET, Azure)

Location: Remote (with occasional travel to Dublin or Kraków)

Contract: 6 months, Outside IR35

Client: Global IT Solutions Consultancy

We’re hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team working on a large-scale, cloud-first platform for a global technology consultancy.

You’ll design and build backend services and APIs using .NET Core and Azure, help shape architecture decisions, and ensure performance, security, and scalability. You’ll collaborate with engineers, DevOps, and product teams, and play a key role in building a modern microservices-based platform.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using .NET Core

• Design and deploy backend solutions on Microsoft Azure

• Contribute to architecture, data modelling, and system design

• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams

• Design and maintain SQL Server databases

• Write clean, modular, well-tested code

• Implement logging, monitoring, and performance tuning

• Maintain up-to-date technical documentation

Required experience:

• 5+ years of backend development experience (3+ years in .NET Core/.NET 5+)

• Strong C#, .NET Core, and SQL Server skills

• Proven experience with Azure (App Services, Azure Functions, Storage, DevOps)

• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps

• Strong knowledge of Git workflows

• Excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills

Nice to have:

• Experience with Cosmos DB or other NoSQL databases

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes

• Knowledge of caching (Redis, Azure Cache)

• Awareness of security best practices in cloud environments

• Agile/Scrum team experience
