Job Description
The position of Information Security and IT Compliance intern will report to the Senior Manager of Information Security and is responsible for supporting corporate information security initiatives to ensure the protection of the company’s information assets. The Information Security and IT Compliance intern will be responsible for performing regular operational security functions, ongoing compliance-related activities, and conduction of security assessments across various technologies. This position will serve as a project member on multiple projects simultaneously and will interact regularly with technical subject matter experts.
The ideal candidate will be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science degree in Information Security and should have a strong interest in cybersecurity practices, threat hunting, and risk frameworks.

Job Description
The position of Information Security and IT Compliance intern will report to the Senior Manager of Information Security and is responsible for supporting corporate information security initiatives to ensure the protection of the company’s information assets. The Information Security and IT Compliance intern will be responsible for performing regular operational security functions, ongoing compliance-related activities, and conduction of security assessments across various technologies. This position will serve as a project member on multiple projects simultaneously and will interact regularly with technical subject matter experts.
The ideal candidate will be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s of Science degree in Information Security and should have a strong interest in cybersecurity practices, threat hunting, and risk frameworks.
Responsibilities Include, but Are Not Limited to:
- Execution of information security reviews against infrastructure, applications, and vendor services
- Vulnerability identification and analysis
- IT compliance monitoring and issue lifecycle reporting related to Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
- Support multiple Information security projects, including: Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tool selection and implementation, Security Event and Incident Management, implementation of formal cybersecurity control frameworks, and General Security Administration
- Participation in various programs and initiatives supporting the further implementation of the company’s Information Security Policies and Standards
- Assistance in IT Security Training and Awareness program including enterprise knowledge sharing and phishing
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Information Security, Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent practical experience through certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+) or self-study
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, such as firewalls, encryption, or network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP)
- Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and Office365 tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in English
- Awareness of common cybersecurity threats (e.g., phishing, malware) and interest in researching emerging trends
- Basic scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash
- Familiarity with security frameworks like NIST CSF, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls
- Interest in cloud security (e.g., AWS, Azure) and/or zero-trust architecture.
- Exposure to vulnerability scanning or ethical hacking concepts
With this full-time internship for 5-6 months (40 hrs/week) at Coty, you will gain:
