About the team

PDPO(Privacy and Data Protection Office) is the organization to lead, supervise, and empower all TikTok's privacy work in an accountable and industry leading way. This team is the expert in the landscape of privacy risks and passionate about consulting across the company on implementing the proper safeguards and technical mitigations to ensure that our users’ privacy is honored across the TikTok's products and platforms.

Role Mission

In comparison, while the first line of defense focuses on building and maintaining privacy controls to protect personal user data through data management systems, the second line of defense focuses on overseeing operations to ensure the first line of defense is functioning as designed. The team acts as the second line of defense validation, providing criteria from both internal and external perspectives through routine and one-time validations and analyses.

Job Responsibilities

• Build an automated and intelligent verification system to help the company's legal department collect privacy governance fact assets and run data compliance verification.
• Periodically discover systemic risks in data privacy governance and produce reports in related areas.
• Provide governance projects that can be directly utilized by engineering teams to improve project effectiveness and quality.
  
  

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS/MS degree in a relevant field: Computer Engineering or EE;
• Experience within mobile application and/or backend service application;
• Have distributed application and iOS/Android fundamental knowledge;
• Excellent problem solving skills, ability to coordinate with different global teams;
• Proficient in using SQL, Python, or R, with a solid understanding of data storage concepts and databases.
  
  

Strong passion for learning , can take full responsibility for service end to end quality assurance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiar with Java/Python/Objective-C/Golang, experience in related projects development;
• Familiar with Redis, NSQ, Zero-MQ, Kafka, Docker, K8s, Hive, Spark.
