Chief DevOps Engineer

We are seeking an accomplished Chief DevOps Engineer to join our team and lead efforts in building and enhancing scalable infrastructure solutions.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, optimize deployment pipelines, and ensure system reliability. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, leveraging advanced tools and methodologies to drive impactful results.

Responsibilities


  • Design and maintain infrastructure to support scalable and reliable microservices architectures
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps principles into the software development process
  • Manage version control systems and implement effective branching strategies for both monorepos and microservices
  • Streamline build automation processes using tools like Gradle to improve development workflows
  • Configure and oversee CI pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Postman, and Pact for API testing
  • Utilize containerization technologies like Docker and orchestrate deployments with Kubernetes
  • Employ Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible to automate infrastructure provisioning and management
  • Implement monitoring and logging solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack to enhance system observability
  • Write Shell or Python scripts and manage Java-based components for maintaining the codebase
  • Set up and manage CD pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable microservices delivery using tools like Terraform and Harbor
  • Apply security measures to microservices, focusing on container and network security within CI/CD workflows
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to document processes and share knowledge effectively
  • Promote Agile practices and DevOps methodologies to enhance team performance and product delivery


Requirements


  • At least 7 years of experience in a DevOps role
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience managing and leading development teams
  • Expertise in Git for version control, including branching strategies for monorepos and microservices
  • Advanced knowledge of build automation tools like Gradle, particularly for microservices environments
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing CI tools such as Jenkins, Postman, and Pact
  • Extensive experience with Docker for containerization and Kubernetes for orchestration and deployment
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible for automating infrastructure management
  • Proficiency in monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana, as well as logging solutions like ELK stack
  • Strong skills in scripting languages such as Shell or Python, with a working knowledge of Java for codebase maintenance
  • Experience creating CD pipelines and deploying microservices using tools like Terraform and Harbor
  • Understanding of microservices security practices, including container and network security
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for effective teamwork across multiple teams
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps principles to improve team efficiency and delivery
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken, at a B2 level or higher


Nice to have


  • Experience with Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) for orchestrating containers in AWS environments
  • Familiarity with Grafana for advanced monitoring and visualization of system metrics
  • Knowledge of OpenSearch for scalable analytics and search functionality in distributed systems
  • Understanding of Prometheus for collecting and monitoring system metrics
  • Hands-on experience with Rancher for managing and deploying Kubernetes clusters
