About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Android Developer to join our vibrant tech team at The Portfolio Group. Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a solid foundation in mobile application development with a focus on Android platforms. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience in Android app development, with a portfolio of published applications, is highly desirable. Strong proficiency in Java and familiarity with Kotlin is essential. Candidates should also have a good understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and mobile UI/UX best practices. Experience with automated testing frameworks and methodologies such as TDD and BDD will be considered an advantage. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment are key attributes for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced Android applications that deliver a seamless user experience.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to define, design, and implement new features and functionalities.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications through rigorous testing and optimization.
  • Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and agile development cycles to maintain high standards of code quality and project transparency.
  • Implement clean architecture principles and best practices, including Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD).
  • Identify and troubleshoot bugs, performance bottlenecks, and other issues, providing timely solutions and updates.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies related to mobile development to continuously improve skills and application quality.
