About the Role

This is a unique and professional role within our legal compliance team. Reporting directly to the Head of Assurance, Risk, and Compliance, as the Head of Security, you’ll play a key part in safeguarding assets and people across the Heineken UK group (including Star Pubs). You’ll ensure robust security management systems are in place and provide specialist advice and leadership to mitigate key risks and reputational impacts.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Site Security: Ensure security at our brewery and office sites, aligned with Heineken’s global standards. Work closely with local police and third parties to address any security needs.
  • Pub Protection: Implement security strategies across Star Pubs, manage security for vacant sites, and assist in recovering unpaid rent.
  • Asset Recovery: Partner with Keg Watch to recover vulnerable kegs and prevent their misuse.
  • Action Planning: Lead security initiatives as part of the Heineken Compliance & Security Action Plan.
  • Investigations: Oversee confidential security investigations, including those related to insurance claims or the Speak Up process.
  • Network Management: Manage outsourced security professionals and build relationships with law enforcement and external partners like Action Fraud.
  • Global Collaboration: Work with Heineken Global Security to assess and improve security for UK-based events.

About you

This is a senior role that would suit a candidate who has held a senior security role in industry, with extensive experience in both the police service and the private sector. You should have a strong track record of conveying critical security information, building trust with stakeholders, and ensuring security policies and procedures are understood and followed.

Key Experience:

  • Managing national and complex security operations.
  • Incident management and investigation.
  • Emergency and crisis response planning.
  • Engagement with regulatory bodies and law enforcement.
  • Staying informed on relevant legislation, such as Martyn’s Law.
  • CCTV and access control management.
  • Expertise in crisis management and risk mitigation.
  • A solutions-driven approach, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Our Benefits

As part of the team, along with your salary, you’ll also receive;

  • An annual bonus
  • Flexible benefits (15% of base salary can be taken as cash, benefits, or a mix of both)
  • Company funded Private Medical Healthcare
  • Double matched pension contributions (up to 10%)
  • 35 days holiday (with the opportunity to buy/sell)
  • A monthly case of our delicious ciders and beers!
  • Exciting opportunities to develop your career

You’ll also get the opportunity to get involved with one of our colleague networks where groups of colleagues from all over the business work together to ensure we’re always working towards being a diverse and inclusive company.
