About the Role/Specialty
You’ll be a Frontend Engineer working across Canva’s help surfaces – from in-product guidance to embedded support widgets and everything in between. You’ll work with designers, engineers, researchers, and PMs to build features that are not only functional but feel magical to use. You’ll elevate the craft of frontend development in the help experience space by contributing to reusable components, performance improvements, and accessible designs.
Goals you’ll achieve
0-6 month goals
- You’ll ship key frontend experiences that improve user access to support
- You’ll build reusable components and contribute to our design system for Help UX
- You’ll pair with designers to ensure high-quality UI/UX outcomes
6-12 month goals
- You’ll independently own frontend features or help journeys end-to-end
- You’ll lead UI performance tuning initiatives for help widgets
- You’ll help shape frontend best practices across the team
What you’ll do (responsibilities)
- You’ll build accessible, performant, and scalable help interfaces in Canva
- You’ll work across the stack as needed, with a frontend emphasis
- You’ll collaborate closely with UX, product, and backend teams
- You’ll champion usability and frontend performance improvements
- You’ll write tests and maintain code quality across our help surfaces
- You’ll contribute to the technical direction of help experiences at Canva
What we're looking for
You’re a frontend developer with a passion for user experience. You enjoy crafting elegant UIs that solve real problems. You’re comfortable with modern JS frameworks (we use React), CSS-in-JS, and component-driven development. You’re proactive, collaborative, and love working across disciplines to make complex things simple for users.
