Chief Credit Officer

We’re seeking a strategic and experienced CCO to lead ESTO’s Credit Department. You’ll own our credit risk vision, strategy, and execution, balancing ambitious growth with strong portfolio quality and sustainable profitability.

This role connects regional credit leads, analytics, data science, scoring models, fraud prevention, and risk-based pricing to build a best-in-class risk framework for responsible credit at ESTO.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Strategic Leadership & Team Building: Build and lead ESTO’s centralized Credit Department - overseeing regional Credit Managers, Portfolio Management, Fraud Management, and Credit Intelligence teams.
• Integrated Credit Growth & Risk Management: Develop and implement cohesive credit strategies, balancing ambitious growth objectives with sustainable portfolio quality and profitability across the Baltics.
• Proprietary Scoring & Credit Intelligence: Oversee ESTO’s proprietary credit scoring with Data Scientists, fraud scoring, and conversion scoring models - driving continuous improvement through advanced analytics and machine learning.
• Centralized Limits & Pricing Strategy: Collaborate with underwriting managers on the centralized credit limit and pricing frameworks, harmonizing local scorecards and pricing logic to ensure consistency and optimized profitability across markets.
• Portfolio Analytics & Reporting: Lead comprehensive group-level credit reporting and analytics, ensuring seamless integration of local insights into actionable strategic decisions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong relationships and active collaboration with the Product, Data Science, Finance, Operations, and Legal teams to align credit decisions with broader business goals.
  
  

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years of senior experience in credit risk management, analytics, underwriting, or related fields, preferably within fintech, banking, or consumer finance.
• Proven track record in building and managing high-performing credit risk teams across multiple markets.
• Deep expertise in credit scoring, decision engine optimization, and advanced analytics (experience with SQL, Python, or other analytical tools preferred).
• Strong strategic mindset combined with hands-on operational leadership.
• Excellent ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and effectively communicate risk strategies at the executive and board level.
• Fluency in English is required; Estonian, Latvian, or Lithuanian is a strong plus.
