What You Will Do

Architect, build and maintain systems responsible for financial exam reporting which directly integrate with blockchain technology;
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement elegant solutions, ensuring alignment with best practices and the company’s overarching strategy;
Integrate with blockchain technologies and protocols, emphasizing secure connections, data flow, and adaptability to the evolving needs of the business;
Continuously stay updated with the latest trends in backend and blockchain development, ensuring Bastion is using optimal technology;
Establish a scalable architecture to support current business needs, while remaining adaptable to future customer demands and market trends;
At least 4 hrs overlap with EST is required.

MUST HAVES

5+ years of professional backend engineering experience;
Strong coding skills in core backend languages (e.g., Python, Scala, Go, or TypeScript);
Experience with databases such as Snowflake and Postgres;
Proven ability to build compliance tooling in fast-paced environments, especially in fintech or blockchain;
Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g., AML, KYC, GDPR) and their impact on tech and ops;
Experience working with cross-functional teams (product, legal, risk, ops) to ship compliance-focused solutions;
Ability to turn complex compliance requirements into scalable, robust backend systems;
Customer-centric approach and strong execution mindset;
Upper-Intermediate English level.

NICE TO HAVES

Prior experience in the blockchain space, especially involving cross-border payments or financial reporting;
Familiarity with blockchain protocols and integrations;
Background working in growth-stage startups or on zero-to-one initiatives.
