Network Engineer

As a mid-level network engineer, you will join a collaborative working environment where you will be responsible for designing, building, deploying, and supporting complex network solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a managed service environment where you will have strong project experience across multiple networks and network security platforms.

To be successful in this position, you will need to be a resourceful engineer who is forward-thinking. You will be able to engage with customers regarding new and existing technologies and make recommendations when required.

This position is based in the Brisbane office. Hybrid working could be offered to the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Experience across complex network environments
• Maintain and manage existing network infrastructure LAN/WAN
• Experienced in projects focused on hands-on design, installation, configuration and commissioning of routing and switching solutions
• Good written communication, interpersonal & problem-solving skills
• Ability to self-manage and work autonomously throughout the project lifecycle – design, scope and implement
• Site visits – Customer and Data Center required
• Participation in an On-Call Roster
• Monitoring network engineering performance
• Managing network security
• Level 3 support for all networking issues

Technical Skills (Desirable)

• Cisco routers, switches and firewalls
• Relevant IT qualifications and certs e.g. CCNP, CCIE
• Routing: experience in BGP & OSPF configuring & troubleshooting
• Switching: experience in Cisco Nexus, Catalyst & HPE, Aruba switch implementations as well as day-to-day maintenance & troubleshooting
• Security: experience in Palo Alto, Fortinet, Sophos & Cisco firewalls including implementations and day-to-day maintenance & troubleshooting
• Experience in configuring & troubleshooting NAT, IPSec VPN’s
• Telephony platforms e.g 3CX, CUCM, Teams calling
• VMware networking and virtualisation technologies
• AWS and Azure cloud networking
