Senior Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement comprehensive test strategies and plans for complex systems and applications.
  • Define test objectives, scope, and success criteria in collaboration with product and development teams.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or similar.
  • Perform manual testing when necessary, including exploratory, regression, and user acceptance testing.
  • Ensure thorough test coverage across functional, integration, performance, and security domains.
  • Identify, document, and track defects using tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps.
  • Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Manage and maintain code repositories (e.g., Git, Bitbucket), ensuring proper version control, branching strategies, and code promotion workflows to support testing and release processes.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure testability, maintainability, and adherence to coding standards.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar platforms.
  • Work closely with DevOps teams to ensure test environments are stable and reflective of production.
  • Lead test efforts for major releases and coordinate cross-functional testing activities.
  • Champion quality best practices across the organization.
  • Participate in design discussions to ensure quality is considered early in the development lifecycle.
  • Provide detailed test reports, metrics, and dashboards to stakeholders.
  • Analyze test results and trends to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Proven Testing experience, preferably in banking or financial services.
  • 5+ years of experience in software testing, with a focus on automation and CI/CD.
  • Proficiency in test automation frameworks & scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum).
  • Experience with performance and security testing tools is a plus.
