Manager – Product Data Engineering

Your role

We are seeking a strategic and collaborative leader to head the Product Data Management & Data Pipelines team within the AI & Data area of Group Digitalization with the responsibility to own and continuously improve Saabs product-data backbone that powers every simulation and AI model we ship. This team plays a critical role in enabling software development with high-quality product data to ensure that development and simulation can be validated in the most efficient and effective way. The team supports the entire organization and works closely with business stakeholders to ensure that data flows, structures, and quality meet the needs of modern software engineering and AI-driven development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a cross-functional team focused on product data management and data pipelines
• Define and execute strategies to ensure high-quality, accessible, and validated product data for development and simulation
• Collaborate with software development, simulation, and AI teams to understand data needs and deliver scalable solutions
• Drive continuous improvement in data quality, governance, and automation of data flows
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and data-driven decision making
• Ensure alignment with organizational standards for data security, compliance, and architecture
  
  
  

Your profile

Required:

• Proven leadership experience in data engineering, software development, or platform management
• Strong understanding of data pipelines, product data structures, and validation processes
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and supporting large-scale software development
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to communicate fluently in both Swedish and English.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  
  
  

Preferred:

• Familiarity with highly regulated industries (e.g., defence, energy, medical, finance).
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g. Databricks, snowflake or other)
• Familiarity with simulation environments and AI-driven development
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks
• Experience in large-scale or complex software organizations
  
  
  

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
