Freelance Security Engineer – 6-Month Contract (Netherlands / Remote)

80 - 100 EUR Per Hour

About the Role:

We’re looking for an experienced Security Engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft security technologies to join our team. You’ll play a key role in strengthening our client’s security posture through implementation, optimization, and monitoring of tools like Microsoft Sentinel and Microsoft Defender.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage SIEM solutions, especially Microsoft Sentinel
• Deploy, configure, and monitor Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Identity, and Office 365
• Analyze and respond to security incidents and alerts
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to improve threat detection and response
• Fine-tune detection rules and create custom analytics in Sentinel
• Support compliance, audit, and reporting requirements

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft Defender suite (Endpoint, Identity, Office 365, etc.)
• Familiarity with Azure Security Center and other Microsoft security tools
• Ability to write and optimize KQL queries for Sentinel
• Understanding of incident response processes
• Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus)
