Junior Software Developer – C# / .NET (Hybrid near Chester)
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum
Location: Hybrid – Cheshire-based (commutable to Chester)
Working Hours: 34-hour working week with flexible hours and early Friday finish

What you’ll be doing
- Building and enhancing core and supporting software systems
- Contributing across the full development lifecycle – from planning and design through to coding, testing, and deployment
- Taking ownership of your work – ensuring quality, performance, and maintainability
- Collaborating with stakeholders to design solutions to real-world business problems
Tech Stack
You’ll be working with modern tools and best practices including:
- Languages & Frameworks: C# (.NET LTS)
- Messaging: Azure Service Bus, RabbitMQ
- Containerisation: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm
- Databases & Storage: SQL Server, Azure Storage, Redis
What we’re looking for
We’re open to developers early in their career who can demonstrate:
- Strong foundations in backend development
- Proficiency in at least one strongly-typed language (ideally C#)
- Understanding of software engineering best practices (e.g. SOLID principles, design patterns, clean code)
- Clear communication skills – both technical and non-technical
- A proactive, adaptable approach and willingness to learn in a fast-moving environment
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience with distributed microservice architectures
- An interest in continuous improvement – both personally and for the team
- Practical decision-making balancing technical and business needs
- Awareness of remote or hybrid work collaboration
