As an Embedded Software Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in the next generation of elevator software. From designing cutting-edge features to maintaining robust systems, you'll ensure that the software powering thousands of Schindler elevators meets the highest quality and safety standards.

What You’ll Do:


  • Design & Develop: Create new software features and interfaces, keeping overall architecture, cost, quality, and hardware restrictions in mind.
  • Implement Cutting-Edge Solutions: Use modern programming languages, libraries, and technologies to bring your ideas to life.
  • Ensure Quality: Collaborate with test engineers to perform code reviews and rigorous unit tests (both manual and automated).
  • Maintain & Improve: Refactor and enhance existing software systems, troubleshoot and resolve defects with precision.
  • Innovate: Stay on top of industry trends, propose new ideas and technologies for Schindler’s software landscape, and contribute to our intellectual property portfolio by generating IP proposals and patents.



What We’re Looking For:


  • Education & Expertise: A degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field.
  • Programming Proficiency: Experience with modern C++ (latest standards) in an embedded Linux context is essential.
  • Software Tools: Proven experience with CMake, Git, Docker
  • Development Practices: Knowledge of agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
  • Tools and workflows: Familiarity with CI/CD is required, with a preference for those who have worked with Azure DevOps
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of Italian and German is a plus.



Nice to Have


  • Experience with Python, C# and/or .NET
  • Knowledge of the Yocto build system.
  • Understanding of socket programming and common protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, MQTT, ZMQ)
  • Basic expertise with tools such as Jira, Confluence.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and/or LeSS.
  • Experience in Unit and Integration Testing (preferably googletest and/or pytest).
