Role

World Golf Tour is seeking a Data Scientist to join our Product team. In this critical role, you will be the custodian of our data, ensuring it is clean, well-organized, and documented to support strategic business decisions. You will focus on developing and maintaining dashboards and reports for product analytics and user acquisition, collaborating with various teams to provide actionable insights that help operate the business. This role emphasizes strong data stewardship, visualization and statistical analysis.

Responsibilities

Now

  • Serve as the custodian of data, ensuring data quality, organization and documentation.
  • Provide clean, transformed data ready for analysis.
  • Apply software engineering best practices to analytics code (ex: version control, testing, continuous integration).
  • Maintain data documentation and definitions.
  • Train business users on how to use data visualization tools.
  • Collect and evangelize new data sources.
  • Build dashboards that help the Product and Marketing teams identify new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing and other teams to understand their data requirements and translate them into effective reporting solutions

  • Design and evaluate A/B tests.
  • Build, deploy and maintain predictive models to optimize player experiences.
  • Build and maintain game economy models to surface system consequences of product changes.
  • Build and maintain game growth models that help focus the organization on the best opportunities for growth.

Experience And Skills

  • Foundational background in statistics (stats101 plus regression analysis)
  • Proficiency in advanced SQL
  • Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as R or Python
  • Demonstrated experience with BI report authoring (PowerBI, Tableau, Looker)
  • Experience with Product Analytics platforms (Amplitude, Mixpanel)
  • Experience with MMPs (AppsFlyer, Adjust, Singular).
  • Familiarity with modern approaches to ETL and ELT (dbt, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools opportunistically and carefully as a force multiplier.

Bonus Skills

  • Familiarity with B2C digital product and user acquisition analytics
  • Knowledge of golf
  • Knowledge of free-to-play game economics
  • Advanced software engineering skills

Compensation Range: $90K - $150K
