Software Engineer – Financial Systems (Java, Kubernetes, Kafka)

We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join a specialist engineering function supporting post-trade settlement platforms. This is a hands-on development role with a strong focus on backend systems, performance, and platform reliability.

The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, and continuous improvement of scalable software solutions for global securities settlement processes. This position sits within a collaborative, engineering-led team working on complex distributed systems using modern infrastructure and tooling.

What you’ll do:

• Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance applications supporting global settlement workflows
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver robust, well-tested solutions
• Contribute to infrastructure automation and CI/CD improvements
• Work across a modern stack with strong engineering standards

Tech you’ll work with:

• Java, Spring Boot
• Kafka
• Kubernetes, Argo CD
• GitLab CI/CD
• Terraform or CloudFormation
• Observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic Stack

What we’re looking for:

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong core Java skills and hands-on Spring Boot development
• Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and event streaming (Kafka)
• Exposure to infrastructure as code and automated deployment pipelines
• Background in financial systems or post-trade processing is a plus, not a must
