We are looking for a Network and Computer Systems Administrator to write, review, and validate prompt-based questions designed to train AI.
Your expertise in network configuration, server administration, IT troubleshooting, and systems monitoring will ensure each prompt and response reflects the complexity of enterprise infrastructure environments. You’ll help shape how AI models simulate realistic IT operations, troubleshoot common system issues, and enforce best practices for uptime, access, and performance.
You are a good fit if you:
- Have over 3+ years of experience in managing networks, servers, and enterprise IT systems
- Have a bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or related field
- Are currently based in the United States, United Kingdom, or Canada
- Have a strong background in areas such as configuring and maintaining Windows/Linux servers, managing LAN/WAN networks, monitoring system performance, responding to incidents, handling permissions and access controls, and supporting end users
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Have strong attention to details
Preferred Qualification
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft MSCA, Cisco CCNA are highly preferred
- Familiarity with tools like Active Directory, VMware, Hyper-V, Nagios, SolarWinds, or PowerShell is a plus
Role Highlights
- Flexible workload: 10–20 hours per week, with potential to increase to 40 hours.
- Fully remote and asynchronous—work on your own schedule.
- Minimum duration: 1–2 months, with potential for extension.
Role Start Date
- This role will begin in mid to late-July with applications reviewed on a rolling basis.
Interview Process
- You will take an AI interview where you will be asked questions about your background in IT systems and network administration
- You will share your screen and write a detailed prompt to generate an AI response about a technical support or configuration scenario.
- You will evaluate and compare LLM outputs to determine which response is more effective and accurate.
- Applicants will be selected based on their performance in the AI interview and on the accuracy and quality of their evaluations.
Compensation and Legal Details
- You will be legally classified as an hourly contractor for Mercor
- We will pay you out at the end of each week via Stripe Connect
