TS Controller - Database

About Role

You will be responsible to organize all Database Systems Administration activities for QR systems on a regular basis to ensure they are up to date. You will also be responsible for supporting the line management in the IT Strategy development, its implementation and compatibility with operational and business objectives and also assist in the budgetary preparation.

Responsibilities

• Leads and controls the implementation, installation, maintenance and support of all relevant technology ensuring quality service is provided to Qatar Airways and its subsidiary organizations to achieve business uptime.
• Control all Backup/Recovery of IT systems are in place as per current IT standards and processes including the processing of Batch Jobs for all systems round the clock
• Oversees the trouble shooting of Databases on a 24 X 7 basis as per procedures laid down to ensure quick resolution for IT faults or incidents reported.
• Organizes and supervises the coordination and communication with Vendors and Information Systems Providers for systems support in order to handle system upgrades, fixes and enhancements whenever required.
• Organizes and provides technical support for any system failures in the TS Infrastructure and other implemented products ensuring quick resolution to reduce down time to the business units
• Oversees that Process and Procedures are followed as per ITIL standards for IT Services and Support across all platforms
• Organizes control of all User Profile Management and Access Control on Servers, applications, Databases systems to ensure security of the IT systems and their access as per existing policies and standards to safeguard the company data from the possible IT threats.
• Oversees and carries out regular checks to ensure that all IT Operational jobs are performed on a periodic basis (i.e. Daily, Weekly or monthly) for IT systems hosted at Qatar Airways Data Centre(s) and performs all required Data Centre operations tasks and responsibilities.
• Oversees all coordination with Vendors/suppliers for the follow up on IT supplies of hardware, software and end user computer accessories and ensures proper delivery of IT equipment as per orders submitted.
• Organizes and is responsible for control over IT Stores and regular updates of IT assets in the IT Asset Management system to ensure all IT assets are properly reordered, issued, updated and disposed of as per end-of-life cycle.
• Oversees all system documentation for IT procedures, standards and policies and its updates are carried out on a regular basis and these are stored in a central repository. Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by Management.

Knowledge Skills And Experience

• Candidate must hold a Bachelor's or Diploma degree and at least 4+ years of experience in Oracle Databases.
• Strong experience of Implementation and upgrading Oracle Database.
• Knowledge of industry best practices, & standard project management tasks
• Experience in End-to-end full life cycle of Upgrading Oracle Database
• Knowledge on DB upgrade to 19c RAC and provide performance, scalability, and resilience with ASM and CRS in a Linux operating system.
• Applying the Security Patches, PSU/CPU/RDBMS Patches, JDK upgrade patches, setup Patches and configuration.
• Expertise in Golden Gate and Replication
• Expertise in RMAN and Setup Disaster Recovery solution
• 24x7 based L2/L3 Technical & functional support
• Expertise on administration of Exadata / ExaCC
• Expertise on migration of database to Cloud
• Added knowledge in Cloning Oracle databases from RAC to non RAC and single to multi node application Installed and Configured ASM, 19c RAC
• As a Project DBA required to work in co-ordination with technical teams and Oracle to debug & analyze issues
• Experience in Change, Incident and Release Management Cloning/refreshes/switchover/administration
• Should have good problem solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-project/team environment. Excellent team player with good communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and effectively lead & delegate tasks to technical team.
• Prior experience in Airline domain and automation of process will be an added advantage.
• Experience in Cloud Database.
