About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Developer with expertise in PHP and Laravel to join a pioneering environmental monitoring business. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of technological innovation, contributing to the development of a data-driven platform that transforms scientific data interaction. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in rebuilding and enhancing the company's core systems, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and user-friendly. The position provides flexibility with remote working options, with occasional travel to the Norfolk headquarters for team collaboration and strategic planning sessions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data scientists, and frontend developers, to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business objectives and user needs.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in full-stack development, particularly with PHP and Laravel frameworks. A strong understanding of modern JavaScript frameworks, especially Vue.js, is essential. Candidates should have hands-on experience with relational databases such as MySQL and familiarity with DevOps practices, including Linux and AWS cloud services. Excellent version control skills using Git, along with a solid grasp of modern front-end development best practices, are required. A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent professional experience will also be considered. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment are key attributes for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain scalable backend systems using Laravel (PHP) to support real-time data ingestion and processing.
