We are seeking a Senior Administration / Human Resources Executive to join the Australian Human Resources Department in Sydney on a permanent basis.


About the role

The Senior Administration / Human Resources Executive leads a small team that is responsible for procuring and administering local employee facilities and benefits, handling WHS admin and NSW workers compensation matters, and overseeing local senior employees’ HR records.


If you have at least five years of generalist HR experience, excellent administration skills and aspire to develop your commercial acumen with a view to advancing into a senior management role, this is the opportunity for you.


Key duties

  • Leading a small team of three colleagues to excel in their respective roles
  • Procuring and administering local employee facilities and services
  • Managing contracts and relationships with third party vendors
  • Preparing annual department budgets and closely monitoring expenditure
  • Administering NSW workers compensation matters
  • Supporting managers with WHS consultation and records administration
  • Providing high quality advice to managers and staff about employment entitlements, internal policies and procedures
  • Maintaining designated local policies and procedures, and contributing to the development of new policies and procedures
  • Overseeing the maintenance of senior employees’ records
  • Preparing reports with data extracted from internal HRIS platforms
  • Assisting the Senior Manager HR/Admin with local staff engagement and learning and development initiatives.


Required knowledge, skills & experience

  • Recent generalist Human Resources experience
  • Sound knowledge of procurement processes and commercial contracts
  • Proficiency in Word, SAP and an aptitude for IT systems and platforms
  • Excellent numeracy, attention to detail and competency with Excel software
  • Effective communication, with an ability to employ tact and maintain confidentiality
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Outstanding service ethic


Preferred qualification and skills

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management or a related field
  • Current knowledge of NSW workers compensation admin and claims handling
  • Airline industry experience


This is a full-time permanent position. All candidates must be eligible to work in Australia, as evidenced by Australian citizenship or Permanent Residency status. 


The position has a salary range of A$93,600 - A$132,000, plus superannuation. The starting salary may be adjusted commensurate with experience.


The position also attracts a package including complimentary travel entitlements and subsidised health insurance. Flexible work arrangement options, including working from home one day per week, are available.
