Requirements

— The candidate must be a fit and proper person as defined by the FMA, possessing integrity, competence, and experience suitable for managing a regulated virtual asset service provider.

— Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

— Minimum 5-7 years of experience in financial services, fintech, or crypto-asset businesses.

— Proven track record in managing regulated financial institutions or compliance-intensive businesses.

— Strong knowledge of crypto-asset technologies, markets, and regulations.

— Strong understanding of regulatory obligations under MiCA, AMLD, and Austrian financial market law.

— Being subject to approval by the FMA as part of the licensing process.

— Demonstrated personal and professional integrity.

— No criminal record or history of bankruptcy.

— Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.

— Fluency in English and in German.

— The candidate must reside in Austria and actively participate in day-to-day management.

Responsibilities

— Define and implement the strategic direction of the company in alignment with MiCA requirements.

— Ensure operational efficiency and scalability of services related to crypto-asset trading, custody, and exchange.

— Lead high-level business decisions and ensure the financial sustainability of the business.

— Supervise the preparation of annual reports, board minutes, and oversee external and internal audits.

— Ensure full and ongoing compliance with the MiCA Regulation, Austrian FMA guidelines, and related EU directives (e.g., AMLD5, PSD2 and DORA).

— Act as the principal point of contact for the regulator.

— Ensure the company maintains effective governance, risk, and compliance frameworks.

— Oversee the management of prudential safeguards, asset segregation, and security of client funds and crypto-assets.

— Represent the company to stakeholders, partners, regulators, and investors.

— Sign regulatory submissions and disclosures as required under MiCA and national corporate law.

— Maintain transparency and timely communication with shareholders and board members.

— Guide the launch of a new business line in the region.
