Legal Counsel

Client has an exciting opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join the Europe Legal team in Finland and support client business teams across a broad range of legal topics. We are looking forward to onboard an excellent legal professional who will join a talented, innovative and diverse team of legal counsels and contract managers in Europe.

The Legal Counsel will be primarily responsible for the negotiation and review of IT/outsourcing, digital and software contracts in the private and public sector with a focus on supporting business activities in Finland and Nordics. On a need basis, also be involved in transactions elsewhere in Europe. The position will lead contract reviews and negotiations during a competitive tender process and also in the context of existing customer engagements. While the focus of the role will be on commercial contracting, the person will also provide legal support in other areas, such as in the area of employment law as well as in the context of corporate or compliance matters.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Experience (Years): 8 to 10 Years

Period: Fulltime position

Key Responsibilities:

• Fully qualified Finnish lawyer. Additional qualification or experience in the Nordics region will be appreciated.
• Approximately 8 to 10 years of relevant experience; a combination of private practice and in-house experience for working at international companies will be preferred. Candidates of other levels of PQE can be considered if they can demonstrate that they meet the requirements.
• Experience in the field of IT outsourcing, “digital” offerings, IP, software licensing and data privacy.
• Experience with Public Procurement is a plus.
• Excellent communication and drafting skills in Finnish and English language.
• Ability and mindset to work as a business partner and combine legal expertise with practical advice.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel within the company, clients, and vendors.
• Intercultural sensitivity and interest to work in a diverse environment.
• Good time management skills.
