Senior Backend Engineer

This role is hybrid with an expectation of approximately one day per week at our Alicante office. For candidates located elsewhere, we may explore additional flexibility.

Job Overview:

To work with our team based in Alicante, Spain, we would like to welcome on board a Software Engineer who understands the whole game development life cycle, has experienced several product releases and understands the balance between software quality and speed to bring value to users. Moreover, we are looking for somebody that embraces learning and exploring new topics and welcomes challenges.

Candidates must be self-motivated, have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and grasp new programming concepts.

Responsibilities:

Manage the full software development life cycle, from analysis to deployment along with apply best practices and strong methodology. You can rely on your good understanding of troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, application design and solution development.

You will join a team of developers working on our game distribution platform, which includes multiple services and internal tools used to manage and operate a subscription platform for mobile games.

You will direct impact in creating, refining, and evolving innovative products

You’ll work autonomously, with guidance and support as needed

Requirements:

▫ Strong experience in software development, with a focus on backend systems (with a background in Computer science)

▫ Proven experience creating web applications / web services

▫ Detail-oriented with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges and make balanced trade-offs

▫ Strong analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and a sense of urgency in delivering solutions.

▫ A commitment to understanding and meeting both business and customer needs

▫ Fluent in English (as our team is international)

▫ Working experience in Java and PostgreSQL are a big plus

▫ Strong knowledge of Fullstack development.

▫ Working experience with other backend technologies or scripting languages will be positively valued (e.g NodeJS, PHP, Go, Python, …)

▫ Working experience of frontend frameworks (Vue/React/…)

▫ Linux experience

▫ Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes
