Software Engineer - Android Embedded Platform

We are now seeking an Embedded Platform Engineer to help us develop our pioneering portfolio of video devices further. Based at our global headquarters in Oslo, you will join Neat’s main R&D hub of over 70 talented engineers and designers.

The Opportunity

As an Embedded Platform Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining the lower-level software for Neat's innovative devices. Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing, developing, integrating and optimizing kernel-level components to ensure robust and high-performance operation.
• Working with the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) to customize and enhance the platform for our unique hardware.
• Implementing and refining Hardware Abstraction Layers (HALs) to bridge the gap between software and our cutting-edge hardware.
• Collaborating within a DevOps framework, contributing to continuous integration, delivery, and deployment pipelines.
• Troubleshooting and debugging complex system-level issues across the entire platform stack.
• Contributing to the architectural decisions and technical roadmap for Neat's platform evolution.
  
  

What Could Make You a Good Fit

• You possess extensive experience in kernel development, AOSP, or embedded Linux platforms.
• You have a deep understanding of hardware-software interaction and experience with HALs.
• You are proficient in C/C++ and have experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• You have a strong grasp of DevOps principles and experience with related tools and practices.
• You are a proactive problem-solver with excellent debugging and analytical skills.
• You are a collaborative team player who thrives in an agile development environment.
