Position Summary
Fall Student - Front-End Developer
What You Will Be Doing
- As a Front-End Developer Student at OLG you will support a variety of design and development practices, such as:
- Gather business requirements from lab team.
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
- Collaborate with the development team to design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
- Develop user-facing features and build reusable code and libraries for future use.
- Execute unit tests to ensure consistency across devices and browsers.
- Identify potential solution risks/issues and communicate to relevant stakeholders.
- Sound interest in designing and developing user interfaces and Single Page Apps
- Understanding of coding/development
- Working knowledge of different programming languages and frameworks (JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Node.js, React/Vue.js, RESTful API)
- Strong communication skills to support technology and operations partners
- The passion and eager to learn, and high attention to detail, strong time-management and organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines and priorities within a demanding environment.
- Work collaboratively within an agile environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional PowerPoint and Excel skills
- Working as part of a large Technology and Digitally driven organization
- Being part of a collaborative working environment alongside OLG Leaders who support the growth and development of students
- Participate in Diversity and Inclusion initiatives across the organization including Pride Parade and Women’s Leadership Programs
- Support OLG Charities including the Federated Health Campaign, United Way Campaign and other fundraising efforts for local charities
