Location: Richmond, BC. Hybrid—3 days onsite (M, T, TH)
Type: Permanent or Contract:
Salary range for perm: $75,000 - $105,000 / annually
Rate for contract: $60/hr T4
Overview:
The Intermediate DevOps Specialist is a core member of every project team and plays a critical role in the software development life cycle. The DevOps Specialist will collaborate with Project Engineers to implement and support continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines that support software build, test, and delivery automation. The DevOps Specialist will also work closely with Cyber Security and SecOps to ensure that CI/CD pipelines integrate with code quality and code security static analysis tools, as well as open-source software vulnerability scanners. The DevOps Specialist will collaborate with the Software Quality Specialist to integrate test automation into the CI/CD pipeline.
What you will do:
Collaborate with project teams to conceptualize, develop, test, and release software.
- Collaborate with project teams to design and implement CI/CD pipelines.
- Support project developers with Development Environment issue resolution and support account creation and access to tools within the Development Environments.
- Support Software Quality Engineering to enable automated testing of software.
- Support Software Quality Engineering to integrate automated testing with CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with IT and Cloud Architecture to implement Infrastructure as Code to enable the automation of infrastructure deployment and configuration.
- Collaborate with Cyber Security and Security Architecture teams to implement software security policies to prevent security breaches and other vulnerabilities.
- Support IT by contributing to the design and implementation of the deployment of monitoring and observability tools to improve operational efficiency.
- As part of the DevOps practice, contribute to continuous improvements in DevOps implementation to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
What you must have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a similar relevant degree or a combination of education and experience
- 3+ years of software development, DevOps, SRE or systems administration experience
- knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm (or equivalents)
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Shell, and PowerShell
- Experience and knowledge of source control tools such as GitLab
- Experience and knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitCI
- Experience and knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, Salt or similar IaC technologies
- Experience with monitoring stacks like ELK, Grafana/Prometheus, or DynaTrace
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
Special Considerations:
Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the Reliability status level, pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and be able to obtain higher clearances.
