Job Title: Senior Data Modeler – Telecom Domain

Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Data Modeler with deep experience in telecom industry data modelling and a strong background in large-scale data warehouse implementations. The ideal candidate will have 12–15 years of hands-on experience in designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models, along with an understanding of semantic layer design for BI consumption and self-service analytics enablement.

The role will be part of a critical project implementing the PI Telecom Data Model, so familiarity with this model is a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, maintain, and review enterprise data models across telecom domains (customer, usage, CDRs, billing, product catalog, network KPIs).
• Translate complex telecom business requirements into scalable and reusable data structures.
• Review and validate vendor-delivered data models, ensuring alignment with business logic, performance goals, and governance standards.
• Support the implementation of the PI Telecom Data Model and ensure its integration with internal systems.
• Design and document semantic layers to support enterprise BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, MicroStrategy), enabling governed self-service analytics.
• Ensure consistency, integrity, and traceability of data across systems by maintaining metadata and data dictionaries.
• Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and reporting teams to implement and optimize models on on-premises data warehouses and data lakes.
• Enforce modelling standards, naming conventions, and data governance compliance.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 12–15 years of experience in data modelling, including extensive telecom domain experience.
• Strong practical knowledge of telecom data such as BSS/OSS, CRM, usage, billing, network performance, and product lifecycle.
• Expertise in dimensional and relational modelling for large-scale data warehouses.
• Proficiency in data modelling tools: Erwin, Power Designer, or ER/Studio.
• Experience in designing and optimizing semantic layers for BI platforms to support enterprise reporting and self-service.
• Familiarity with MPP database platforms like Greenplum, Teradata, or similar.
• Strong SQL and data analysis skills, with excellent attention to model accuracy and performance.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge or prior experience with the PI Telecom Data Model is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with TM Forum SID or other telecom reference models.
• Experience in agile delivery environments and working with cross-functional teams.
• Exposure to data governance frameworks, data quality, and metadata tools (e.g., Informatica, Collibra, Alation).
• Understanding of cloud or hybrid data architectures is a plus.
