Senior Technical Project Manager

Role Overview

Ultahost is looking for a highly capable Project Manager with a development background, preferably in backend, and solid understanding of DevOps, system architecture, and hosting infrastructure. The ideal candidate is an Agile practitioner with a strategic mindset and a passion for delivering scalable and efficient solutions.

You will own the full software project lifecycle — from requirements gathering to deployment — while working closely with developers, product owners, and infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Agile Delivery

Lead software development projects from planning to release using Agile/Scrum methodologies
Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and stakeholder demos
Define scope, timelines, budgets, and ensure project delivery against KPIs
Create, manage, and track JIRA tasks and project boards

Technical & Business Analysis

Translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications and user stories
Produce high-quality technical and business documentation
Conduct business, technical, and systems analysis for ongoing and new projects
Support the creation and refinement of architecture and system design documentation

Team Collaboration & Communication

Act as the bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders
Coordinate with developers, DevOps engineers, QA, and support teams to ensure alignment
Report project progress, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership regularly

DevOps & Hosting Infrastructure Oversight

Collaborate with DevOps teams to manage CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and automation processes
Understand and oversee hosting infrastructure requirements (e.g. DNS, VPS, WHMCS, Linux-based hosting environments)
Ensure best practices in server performance, uptime, and scalability are met

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in a technical project management role
Solid development background, preferably in backend technologies
Strong understanding of software architecture and systems design
Proven experience in Agile and Scrum methodologies
Proficient in JIRA, Confluence, and standard project management tools
Ability to create both technical specifications and business requirement documents

Preferred Skills & Experience

Experience with DevOps, CI/CD tools, and cloud infrastructure
Familiarity with hosting platforms (e.g., cPanel, WHMCS, DNS management)
Strong understanding of basic infrastructure (Linux servers, firewalls, databases, etc.)
Experience in managing web hosting, SaaS, or platform engineering projects is a strong plus
