About the Role:

Hopscotch Games is looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Game Designer to join our team. As part of our team, you will focus on designing, testing, and refining gameplay mechanics that keep players engaged over time with minimal active input. You will work closely with developers and the production team to enhance player progression, balancing, provide valuable feedback, and contribute ideas for improving gameplay and user experience. In this role, you will ensure games are polished across multiple platforms, while collaborating with developers and the production team to enhance the overall product.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and test game mechanics, user interface, and game balance on PC, mobile, and consoles to identify design issues and areas for improvement.
  • Provide detailed feedback on player experience, gameplay flow, and overall design to improve engagement and enjoyment.
  • Collaborate with developers and production teams to refine and iterate on gameplay mechanics, level design, and UX based on player feedback and testing results.
  • Document design insights, testing feedback, and suggestions to support the development team in improving overall game quality.
  • Contribute creative ideas for game features, mechanics, and player progression to enhance the gaming experience.
  • Test games on PC, mobile, and consoles to identify bugs, glitches, and performance issues.
  • Write and maintain documentation on testing results, feedback, and suggestions.


Qualifications:
  • Passion for gaming and knowledge of multiple platforms (PC, consoles, mobile).
  • Experience with game testing and bug-tracking tools (Jira, Monday).
  • Strong communication skills for providing clear, actionable feedback.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with development and production teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and creative thinking skills.


Preferred:
  • Familiarity with game development tools (Unity, Unreal).
  • Experience in game design or QA is a plus.
