Senior DevOps Engineer – Cloud Infrastructure (AWS & GCP)

Location: Remote within Ireland

Are you passionate about building resilient, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure? We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead the design and management of our clients cloud-native environment, primarily on AWS with some GCP integration. You'll play a key role in shaping the foundation of their serverless platform and multi-region architecture, working closely with engineering, security, and compliance teams.

What You'll Do:

• Architect & Build: Design, deploy, and manage cloud-native infrastructure across AWS (Lambda, AppSync, DynamoDB, RDS, S3) and GCP (GKE, Cloud Run) using AWS CDK and Terraform.
• Enable CI/CD: Develop efficient, reliable CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and AWS CodePipeline to support rapid, high-quality deployments.
• Drive Multi-Region Strategy: Optimize multi-region infrastructure to ensure high availability, fault tolerance, performance, and cost-effectiveness—while meeting compliance standards (SOC 2, PCI DSS).
• Implement Observability: Set up and manage monitoring and logging solutions using tools like Logz.io, Datadog, and CloudWatch Logs for full system visibility and quick issue resolution.
• Champion DevOps Best Practices: Collaborate with developers to embed DevOps principles—automation, monitoring, and observability—into the software development lifecycle.
• Ensure Security & Compliance: Partner with engineering and security teams to enforce cloud security policies, manage identity and access, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Tackle Complex Problems: Troubleshoot and resolve issues across our cloud environments—production and staging alike.
• Optimize Costs: Lead cost-efficiency initiatives and identify areas to streamline infrastructure without compromising performance or reliability.

What You Bring:

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering roles, ideally within SaaS or fintech environments.
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, S3) and a solid understanding of GCP (particularly GKE).
• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code using AWS CDK (TypeScript or Python) and Terraform.
• Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline).
• Solid understanding of multi-region, cloud-native architectures and how to optimize for scalability, resiliency, and performance.
• Familiarity with serverless and containerized solutions.
• Expertise in monitoring/logging tools: Logz.io, Datadog, CloudWatch Logs.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Working knowledge of cloud security, networking, and compliance practices.
