Job description

Improving the reliability and integrity of the team's platform while taking pressure of the rest to team, enabling them to focus on strategic initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

Collaborate on architecture, technical design and the building of applications so that together with fellow software engineers you help to improve the team’s competency

Produce clean, stable, fast and well-architected code

Own the quality of the code you produce by taking measures to build it in and keep it high. This includes writing unit, integration and E2E tests

Own and operate the backend of New10 together with your teammates by rotating through on-call incident management shifts

Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies

Closely collaborate and ensure alignment with the rest of the team – frontend, Salesforce, PO, business analyst, UX designer and data analyst

With the following results (SMART)

• Reduce technical debt and improve the robustness of the team's stack
• Amount of technical debt reduced
• The amount of work will be in line with what is achievable given the skills and timeframe
• The amount of work will be realistic, reflecting the accumulated domain knowledge of the contractor and the time they have available to undertake the work
• The timeframe is the contract length (currently 6 months)

Requirements

We’re looking for someone who has:

Extensive experience with Typescript/Node.js and Python

Sufficient frontend capabilities to share the light FE load with the rest of the, mainly BE, team

Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB

Familiarity with serverless architectures

Strong experience with designing, managing and working with REST APIs

In addition to technical skills, the successful applicant should possess durable skills such as emotional intelligence, empathy, communication, (self-)leadership, organisation, time management, presentation skills.
