Backend Engineer (Python) – Fintech

Our client is a fast-growing fintech startup building a cutting-edge Fintech Product.

They are now looking to appoint a Backend Engineer to join their core product team. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a high-impact, mission-driven environment with strong backing and ambitious growth plans across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services to power a modern investing experience.
• Translate product requirements and UI/UX designs into robust backend architectures and clean API structures.
• Participate in prototyping and feature development in collaboration with product and design teams.
• Contribute to backend architecture decisions, service scalability, and platform evolution.
• Conduct code reviews, write automated tests, and ensure the resilience of backend systems.
• Maintain awareness of new technologies and suggest improvements where appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with security, performance, and data privacy best practices.

Good to Haves:

• Solid foundation in computer science principles, system design, and data architecture.
• Proficient in Python and experienced in building production-ready backend services.
• Familiar with relational and non-relational databases (SQL/NoSQL).
• Comfortable working with cloud platforms (experience with GCP is a strong plus).
• Experience writing and maintaining unit tests and CI/CD pipelines.
• Self-starter with a high level of accountability and ownership.
• Bonus: Experience with Kubernetes, containerization, or working in a startup/scale-up environment.
