Job Summary:
The Project Officer - System Testing will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and successful implementation of new and enhanced systems. This individual will be responsible for coordinating, executing, and reporting on various testing activities, working closely with development teams, business stakeholders, and other project personnel. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC), quality assurance (QA) methodologies, and project management principles, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Planning & Strategy:
Assist in developing comprehensive test plans, test strategies, and test cases based on project requirements, user stories, and functional specifications.
Identify and define test objectives, scope, and success criteria for system testing phases.
Collaborate with business analysts and subject matter experts to understand business processes and translate them into effective test scenarios.
Test Execution & Coordination:
Execute various types of system tests, including functional, integration, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Coordinate testing activities with internal teams (development, business, IT operations) and external vendors (if applicable).
Monitor test progress, track defects, and ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
Manage test environments and test data setup.
Defect Management & Reporting:
Accurately log, track, and prioritize defects using established defect management tools.
Communicate defect status and severity to relevant stakeholders.
Prepare and disseminate regular test progress reports, including defect summaries, test coverage, and overall system quality metrics.
Facilitate defect review meetings and ensure effective communication between testing and development teams.
Documentation & Communication:
Maintain detailed and organized test documentation, including test cases, test results, and defect reports.
Develop and update user manuals, training materials, and system documentation as needed.
Effectively communicate testing progress, risks, and challenges to the Project Manager and other stakeholders.
Facilitate workshops and meetings related to system testing.
Process Improvement:
Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
Identify opportunities to enhance test automation and efficiency.
Stay updated with industry best practices in software quality assurance and testing.
Stakeholder Management:
Build and maintain strong working relationships with project team members, business users, and IT personnel.
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between all parties involved in the testing process.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a project-oriented role with a significant focus on software testing, quality assurance, or system implementation.
Proven experience in developing and executing test plans and test cases for complex systems.
Experience with various testing methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile PM) is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Quality Assurance (QA) processes.
Proficiency in using test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, ALM/Quality Center).
Experience with defect tracking systems.
Basic understanding of databases (SQL) and ability to write simple queries for test data validation is desirable.
Familiarity with test automation frameworks and tools is a plus (e.g., Selenium, UFT).

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, CAPM, CSM).
Certification in Software Testing (e.g., ISTQB Foundation Level).
Experience with specific industry systems or applications relevant to the organization.
Experience in a regulated industry (if applicable).
