Planning & Engineering Business Analyst

For one of our clients, an international company, we are looking for a Planning & Engineering Business Analyst, who will be part of an innovative organisation that delivers cutting-edge data-driven capabilities & solutions to our business and operations.

As a Planning & Engineering Analyst, you will act as a technical expert on complex and specialist within business analytics. Support management with the analysis, interpretation and application of complex information whilst contributing to the achievement of divisional and corporate goals and also supports or lead projects by acting as a subject-matter-expert in your area of expertise.

You will be responsible for:

• Requirements Gathering - Understand and document business needs and requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and research.
• Solution Assessment & Monitoring - Evaluate systems and processes to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement. Monitor deployed solutions and ensure continuous quality & results.
• Documentation and Specification - Create detailed business and functional specifications for IT teams to implement.
• Data Processing – Write and optimize complex SQL queries, scripts, and data models.
• Adhoc – Source data and information from internally or from external subject-matter experts as required. Conduct systematic in-depth research and analysis into issues of varying complexity within the area of technical specialism. Provide business intelligence, creation of metrics, and development of reports & dashboarding.
• Data Quality Management - Ensure that data is accurate and reliable. Making sure data is consistent and all necessary data is captured and available.
• Project Management Support - Assist in project planning, execution, and monitoring to ensure that solutions are delivered on time and meet business needs.
• Technical Expertise - Develop and maintain expert knowledge in relevant company principles, processes, tools and best practices. Provide expert advice proactively and on request, which may include advising on appropriate solutions for complex or unique issues. Share knowledge with peers and management.
• Continuous Improvement - Develop, recommend and execute tools and processes to assist in the achievement of goals within the area of expertise. Apply diverse but structured tools to achieve results or develop new or enhanced services.
• Ad hoc Analytics, Support and Training - Assist data users with data-related issues and enquiries.

What you'll bring to the role:

• A degree or professional qualification in Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related technical discipline
• 3–5 years of relevant experience
• Expertise in building meaningful reports and dashboards tailored to customer needs – preferably in PowerBI
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken
• Strong analytical skills working with complex and big data
• Experience in data engineering, transforming complex data into meaningful information
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic cross-functional environment.
