About Corintis:

Corintis offers innovative microfluidic cooling technologies for data centers. Our solutions improve compute sustainability and tackle the excessive electricity consumption associated with data center cooling, which consumes more electricity than New York and London combined. By integrating cooling directly inside the chip, we pave the way for the next generation of AI workloads, supporting applications like generative AI systems, climate modeling, and drug discovery to enable the future of sustainable computing.

Working at Corintis:

Corintis offers a friendly and team-oriented workplace bringing together a diverse group of nationalities to solve the biggest computing challenges of tomorrow. Based on the EPFL campus near Lausanne, we are closely connected to the local ecosystem and are located a few minutes walk from Lake Geneva.

Job Description:

Seeking a motivated computational engineer specialized in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and preferably Conjugate Heat Transfer (CHT), who likes scientific code development, can work independently and demonstrate resourcefulness. Proactive candidates with prior experience in CAD manipulation and HPC are preferred.

Responsibilities include conducting various 2D/3D simulations and optimizations using in-house and commercial software, as well as performing parametric and sensitivity studies. The scope of this internship is at the frontier between computational engineering and customer projects and includes the development of customer-driven features in our in-house software.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop customer-driven features in our CFD software using programming languages such as C and Python.
  • Conduct CHT simulations and optimizations for customer projects.
  • Support internal projects to maximize the value we bring to the customers.
  • Work collaboratively with our team of application engineers and scientists to troubleshoot technical issues in our software.
  • Develop technical documentation for new and existing features.
  • Present complex research findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements:

  • Strong academic background in numerical analysis, computational engineering/science or equivalent education.
  • Experience with CFD simulations, preferably CHT.
  • Experience with programming languages such as C and Python.
  • Comfortable with standard software development practices: version control, continuous integration, code review, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Capable of organizing own work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Fluent in English.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with at least one simulation software package (OpenFOAM, Ansys, etc).
  • Familiarity with open source finite element software such as FEniCS, firedrake, deal.ii, mfem, ngsolve or gridap.
  • Familiarity with at least one meshing software such as Gmsh, ANSYS Meshing, Pointwise, snappyHexMesh, etc.
  • Familiarity with CAD software commonly used in simulation workflows, such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, etc.

What we offer:

  • Start date: Immediately
  • Contract: Paid Internship 6 months
  • Activity rate: 100%
  • Salary: 2,500 CHF gross per month
  • Location: On-site in Lausanne
